Better Hospital Food
A Healthier Hospital Stay
It’s well known that hospital food isn’t the most desirable. But better hospital food is possible with a few simple hacks and little planning.
Hospital Rules and Etiquette
It’s important to note that it is against hospital etiquette for a guest to bring fresh flowers, certain foods, plants or fruits to a patient without asking first. Infection control is crucial for patients who are very sick and do not have a strong immune system, such as burn victims, cancer or chemo patients. Bring only enough food that can be eaten at one time.
Consider single-serve items, such as individual fruit cups, packages of simple rye crackers and nut butters like walnut butter or tahini. That way there are no leftovers to worry about.
All food must be sealed labelled with your name and the date the food was brought in. Once opened and not used it must be thrown away.
Do not bring home cooked food that needs reheating – Ward staff cannot reheat any food. Do not bring food that requires going in a fridge or freezer.
If you’re not able to bring your own food, the hospital may provide meals. However most hospitals cater more to staff who opt for fast and convenient packaged meals and vending machine snacks.
Anything that is nourishing and non perishable can be a great blessing to a family in the hospital. Since your schedule is thrown off, making the time to sit and eat sometimes doesn’t happen. But here are the best options for a healthy hospital visit.
Sandwiches
Spend 20 minutes making a bunch of sandwiches, and refrigerate them individually wrapped. Voila! Grab-n-go sandwiches for the future.
Veggies & Dip
Zuchinni sticks or bell pepper slices are ideal to wrap in individual portions. Pair with individual servings of hummus, guacamole or nut butters for an added bonus.
Whole Fruit
Apples and sweet burro bananas don’t need cutting and travel well. Also, berries, cut papaya, figs or grapes are ideal. Plus, the natural sugar will provide an energy boost
Immunity Support Powder
The superfoods Elderberry, Sarsaparilla, Linden Flower, Nopal Cactus and Soursop are potent plant foods that provide a host of minerals, antioxidants and cancer fighting nutrients that can be conveniently added to any food or beverage.
Apple Sauce
Apple sauce with Immunity Support Powder provides fiber and high does of minerals to keep you fuller longer, making it a great snack for caregivers.

Always discuss food options with doctors and hospitals staff to ensure you can provide the best possible nourishment to your loved ones before or during any visit.
What to avoid:
- Alcohol: Can be dangerous to blood pressure and prevent healing
- Greasy or fried foods: Can be difficult to digest
- Spicy food: May irritate the stomach
- Sugary drinks: Excessive sugar can be detrimental
- Unpasteurized dairy products: May pose a risk for infection
The Blood and Lymphatic System
Let’s keep this extremely simple. There are 4 MAIN STEPS to cleanse the blood and lymphatic system. Doing so will clear any damaged mucus membrane that is clogging the various glands preventing them from properly secreting and distributing hormones in both men and women.
These 4 steps need to be performed in unison and consistently for a period long enough to remove years of build up, regenerate slightly damaged cells and dispose of eroded cells.
- Optimum Hydration: Hydration is more than drinking water. It’s about electrolytes which can come from water but there is a chance one can drink plenty of water and still suffer from dehydration.
- Stimulate Lymphatic Drainage: There are a number of ways to stimulate lymphatic drainage. Exercise, massage, dry brushing and sweating are among the most effective.
- Remove Processed Food From Diet: Most processed foods can be replaced with a few creative recipes and techniques that help you avoid auto-toxicity.
- Herbal Support That Cleanses The Glands: Combining specific herbs that target the blood and lymphatic system via herbal tea and capsules interchangeably is an ancient method of addressing detoxification on a cellular level.
Herbs That Cleanse The Blood and Lymphatic System:
- Yellowdock – blood cleanser
- Burdock Root – blood cleanser
- Dandelion Leaves and Root – blood & liver cleanser
- Cascara Sagrada – blood cleanser
- Gut Support Capsules – All of the above

📚 Why Hydration is Important, Really?
The true meaning of hydration is more than just drinking water. What we REALLY need are electrolytes. These are MINERALS that happen to take on an electric charge when they meet with water.
The water inside of us is what activates those minerals. So minerals and hydration both go hand in hand AND are one in the same, if that makes sense. Don’t let anyone snow you.
If you stopped drinking water all together and only ate hydrating fruits you would surely keep living.
Dehydration can also cause cravings for sugar, salt and starch, as the body may mistake thirst for hunger. Be sure to drink better water with the Alkanatur.

The Challenge
Ultra Processed Foods (UPFs) are the progress-stopping substances that are sprinkled throughout our lives in the form of good family fun, convenience or holiday treats. This means it’s a fight to get the full spectrum of daily essential minerals through the foods we eat. You’d need to calculate and monitor every bite, all the time, and tally your score at the end of each day. Nobody has time for that.
Or, you could just take CELL SUPPORT, IMMUNITY SUPPORT and SEA MOSS daily.
